What is the shortest verse in the Bible?

Clearly stated in Scripture

In English, the shortest verse is John 11:35 — "Jesus wept."

In most English translations, including the King James Version, John 11:35 is the shortest verse at just two words.

In the original Greek, a case can also be made for 1 Thessalonians 5:16 ("Rejoice evermore"), and shortest-verse questions differ slightly between the original languages and English. But by the common English measure, "Jesus wept" is the answer.
