What does the Bible say about anxiety?

Clearly stated in Scripture

Scripture repeatedly invites believers to bring their worries to God in prayer and to trust His care, rather than carrying anxiety alone.

Paul writes, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God" (Philippians 4:6). Peter echoes this: "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you" (1 Peter 5:7).

The Bible treats anxiety honestly rather than shaming it. If anxiety is persistent or overwhelming, these passages encourage prayer and trust — and it is wise to also seek support from a pastor, counselor, or doctor. This page is devotional reflection, not medical advice.
